I have been involved in online transactions for about ten years. During that time, I have always struggled to determine the authenticity of my buyer or seller. I have had to reluctantly accept the promise of a complete stranger that either “the check is in the mail”, or blindly send a check to a seller whom I have no idea is even legitimate. The only method to check the validity of a seller or buyer has been the Ebay rating system.
Because I have a perfect Ebay rating with a lot of positive feedback, I usually point to that feedback in any online transaction. I have always thought that there had to be a better way to demonstrate my legitimacy to a prospective online transaction partner.
Checkmyfeedback.net was born out my personal desire to know more about my trading partners. It is not an insurance policy, but a method to provide some level of comfort to completing a transaction.
During the development of this site, it became clear that while the fundamental purpose of this site is to rate buyers and sellers, it naturally lends itself to the same rating process applied to businesses and products. I hope you find that useful as well!
